Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca di Marzio has claimed via his personal website that Alves, 36, is currently in Italy to undergo a medical with Parma after a fee was agreed between Rangers and the Serie A club.
Alves made 25 appearances across all competitions for the Light Blues last season and was widely criticised for his inability to keep himself fit and failure to show the classy defensive displays that he has put in throughout his illustrious career.
Some Rangers supporters are happy to see the back of Alves, with one saying “good riddance” to the Portugal international.
